Service Description

At this event you will be able to form hand built projects from raw clay. After you finish, your art will stay with us for a few weeks to dry and be fired. Some projects may not take as long to dry but thicker items will need more time. Come back to glaze your work at your convenience. We will notify you that your project is ready to return to glaze. Allow a week for us to fire your glazed item once you've painted it. I will guide you on making one of the sample items or you can try something else. The cost depends on how many items you make and how much clay you use. To join the class you will need to pay the clay studio fee of $7. This will hold your spot. The day of the class you will pay for everything else. The ghost dish for example can be made with a half pound of clay. We will offer clay in half pound increments for $15. We charge for any additional items as well. For example if you make a ghost tea light holder and a small necklace charm you will pay an additional $2, even if you are using the same amount of clay. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into this process. This fee covers the extra kiln loading and clear glazing involved. The only other charge is when you return to glaze your item you will pay a $7 studio fee to paint. Basically the ghost dish can be hand made and glazed for under $30. We are not putting an age limit on this class, however kids may need assistance.
